FAQ

How the service works

How does laundry pickup and delivery work?

You book a pickup window, leave your bag at the door, and it comes back washed and folded in two business days, or the next day if you ask for it. Bag Chasers calls or texts you when the driver is en route, weighs the bag at our facility, confirms the price with you before charging anything, and returns it to the same doorstep. You do not need to be home for either the pickup or the delivery.

Do I need to be home for pickup or delivery?

No. Leave the bag outside your door at the start of your window and it will be collected. We call or text when the driver is on the way and again when your clean laundry is back on the doorstep, so you can be at work the whole time.

What kind of bag should I use?

Any bag you already own: a kitchen bag, a laundry sack, a duffel, or the reusable bag we leave on your first delivery. There is no special container to buy and no charge for the bag. If you use your own, we return it with the clean laundry.

Do I need to sort my laundry before pickup?

No. We sort every order by color and fabric at the facility as part of the service. If you want certain items kept separate, such as a delicates pile, a work uniform or a child's bedding, put them in their own bag inside the main one and tell us in the special instructions.

How is my laundry kept separate from other customers' laundry?

Every order is washed on its own, in its own machine, start to finish. Orders are tagged on arrival and never combined. Your bag is never run in a shared load with another household's clothes.

How long does laundry pickup and delivery take?

Two business days as standard: collected Monday, back Wednesday. Next-day delivery is available on any order for $0.50 a pound more, which puts the bag back on your doorstep the day after pickup. Both include pickup and delivery at no extra charge.

FAQ

Pickups, deliveries and missed bags

What happens if my bag is not there when the driver arrives?

The driver calls or texts you and waits a few minutes before moving on, and you can rebook for the next available window at no charge. Nothing is charged for a pickup that did not happen. There is no card on file at that point and nothing to refund. If it happens repeatedly on a recurring weekly pickup we will call and move your slot to a day that suits you better rather than keep sending a van.

Where do you leave my laundry if I am not home?

At the same door you left the bag at, unless you tell us somewhere better. Put a porch, a side door, a gate code, a building lobby or a concierge in the special instructions and the driver follows it. We text a photo when it is down, and call if anything about the drop needs deciding. Once your clean laundry has been delivered to the place you asked for, it is in your care. An unattended delivery is a convenience you choose, and we cannot be responsible for a bag taken from a doorstep after we have left it. If you would rather hand it over in person, choose a window you know you are home for and say so.

Can I change or cancel a pickup?

Yes, free, from your account. Move it to another window or cancel it entirely, right up until the driver is dispatched. Nothing is charged when you book, so a cancellation costs nothing and there is nothing to refund. If it is already on the van, call (678) 873-1787 and we will sort it out.

Do you need to be able to reach me?

Both, and you can tell us which you prefer. Routine updates go out as texts by default: on the way, collected, weighed, delivered. Nothing there needs answering in the moment. We call when a call is quicker, which is usually the booking confirmation, a first order where the address or the instructions need checking, or anything unusual found in a bag. Say the word and we will keep to one or the other. The one message worth reading either way is the weighed total, because your card is not charged until you approve it.

FAQ

Pricing and payment

How much does wash and fold laundry service cost in Gwinnett County?

Bag Chasers charges $2.09 per pound for wash and fold, with a 30 lb minimum and pickup and delivery included. That is one rate, not a set of tiers: laundry is collected and returned in two business days, and next-day delivery costs $0.50 a pound more ($2.59 a pound all in). For context, wash and fold in metro Atlanta typically runs $1.25–$2.50 per pound, and services at the low end of that range usually charge separately for pickup or apply a higher order minimum.

What is the minimum order?

30 pounds, which is roughly two full kitchen-sized bags or about a week of laundry for a family. If your bag weighs less than 30 lb you are charged for 30 lb. You are never turned away, and there is no separate small-order fee on top.

Is pickup and delivery really free?

Yes. Pickup and delivery are included in the $2.09 per-pound rate, with no delivery fee, fuel surcharge or distance charge anywhere in the service area. The price on the rate card is the price.

How do you know what my laundry weighs?

Your bag is weighed on a certified scale in the van, at your door, before it leaves your street. You get the actual weight and the actual total by call or text, and you approve it before any card is charged. Nothing is charged after the fact.

What if the final price is more than the estimate?

You see the real number and approve it before we charge you, so a higher weight never becomes a surprise on your card. The calculator on this site is an estimate based on the weight you guessed. If your bag comes in heavier, we call or text you the real total and wait for your yes.

How much does it cost to wash a comforter?

By the size of the bed it is made for: $25 for a twin or full, $30 for a queen, $35 for a king. Down or feather fill adds $10. A weighted blanket is $40. Duvets and quilts are priced the same way as comforters. Every bulky item is a flat charge for the item. It is never put on the scale as well, and it does not count toward the 30 lb minimum.

Do you charge extra for hypoallergenic or baby-safe detergent?

No. There is no upcharge for any detergent option. Standard, hypoallergenic and baby-safe are all available at no extra cost. Hypoallergenic is free and clear with no dyes, perfume or optical brighteners; baby is fragrance-free and formulated for infant clothing and bedding. Both are washed with an extra rinse. Most pickup-and-delivery services bill these as a per-pound upgrade, which charges people more for having sensitive skin or a newborn. We would rather they just switched to us.

How do I pay?

By card, after your bag is weighed and you have approved the total. There is no deposit, nothing is taken when you book, and no card is charged before you have seen the real weight and the real price.

Should I tip the driver?

Never required, always appreciated. Pickup, delivery and the whole route are included in the per-pound rate, so a tip is not covering a fee we left out. It goes to the driver. You can add one after delivery rather than up front, because tipping for work before it happens is not really tipping.

FAQ

How we handle your clothes

What detergent do you use?

You choose from three, standard, hypoallergenic or baby, and all three are included at no extra charge. Standard is a commercial detergent with a light clean scent. Hypoallergenic is free and clear: no dyes, no perfume, no optical brighteners. Baby is fragrance-free and dye-free for infant clothing, bedding and cloth diapers. If you would rather we used your own bottle, leave it with the bag and we will use it, also at no charge.

What water temperature and dryer settings do you use?

Warm wash and medium heat by default, which is safe for the large majority of everyday clothing. Tell us in special instructions if you want cold wash, hot wash, low heat or air-dry only for particular items and we will follow it.

Will you wash dry-clean-only items?

No. We do not offer dry cleaning or hand washing. Bag Chasers is a wash-and-fold service: anything tagged dry-clean-only or hand-wash is set aside at sorting and returned unwashed. We call or text you when we set something aside so it is never a surprise on delivery.

Can you treat stains?

Yes, and it works far better if you tell us. Note the stain and what caused it in the special instructions and it gets pre-treated at sorting, before the dryer sets it permanently. We do not guarantee removal, and no honest laundry does, but a flagged stain is treated and an unflagged one usually is not caught in time.

What happens if something is damaged or lost?

Tell us within 48 hours of delivery and we investigate the order and make it right. Every order is tagged and tracked through the facility, so a missing item is usually located rather than compensated. Bulk-weight laundry services, ours included, are not the right choice for irreplaceable or high-value garments.

Do I need to check my pockets?

Yes, and please empty every pocket before the bag goes out. We check pockets at sorting and set aside anything we find, but a bag is weighed and sorted at volume and the only reliable check is the one you do at home. Keys, cards, phones, AirPods, lipstick, pens and paper money all survive a wash badly, and a pen or a lipstick can mark a whole load rather than one garment. Anything we do find is bagged separately and returned with your order.

Is there anything you will not wash?

Yes. We do not take dry-clean-only or hand-wash-labeled items, leather, suede or fur, wedding dresses and formalwear, feather or memory-foam pillows, electric blankets, rugs with rubber backing, or anything contaminated with bodily fluids, mold, chemicals, oil, solvent or anything hazardous. Contaminated and hazardous items are a health and safety matter for the people handling them, not a preference. Anything on this list is pulled at sorting and returned unwashed, and we call or text you rather than letting it be a surprise on delivery.

Will my clothes shrink or fade?

Some things shrink or fade in any wash, at home or with us, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise. Cotton knits, denim and anything untreated can move slightly on their first few washes, and dark colors give up dye for the first several. We wash warm and dry on medium by default, which is the setting that minimises it for the large majority of everyday clothing. If you have something you want run cold and air-dried, say so in the special instructions and we will follow it exactly.

Are my clothes folded by hand?

Yes, every order is folded by hand and bagged clean and ready to put away. Nothing goes through an automatic folding machine.

FAQ

Service area and scheduling

What areas do you serve?

Bag Chasers serves twelve towns across Gwinnett County and its edges: Lawrenceville, Dacula, Snellville, Duluth, Buford, Lilburn, Norcross, Suwanee, Peachtree Corners, Sugar Hill, Grayson and Loganville. That covers 18 ZIP codes, from 30017 in the south to 30024 in the north. Loganville sits partly outside Gwinnett; our route is drawn by road, not by county line.

How do I know if you serve my address?

Enter your ZIP code in the checker on any page and it answers immediately. If your ZIP is on the route it tells you which town it belongs to; if it is not, nothing is booked and nothing is charged.

What are your hours?

Pickups and deliveries run Monday to Friday, 6am to 3pm, in three windows: 6–9am, 9am–12pm and 12–3pm. Saturday is a half day: we are open 8am to 12pm, and the van runs one pickup and delivery window, 9am to 12pm. You pick the one that suits when you book. Calls, texts and emails are answered later than that on weekdays, until 6pm.

Can I set up a recurring weekly pickup?

Yes. Pick the same day and window each week and the route holds it without you rebooking. We text you before each pickup so nothing goes out unconfirmed: reply to confirm it, move it, or skip that week, at no charge.

How far in advance should I book?

By the evening before is enough, for the standard turnaround and for next-day delivery alike. Weekend slots fill first, so for a Friday or Saturday pickup two to three days ahead is safer.

Do you serve apartments and gated communities?

Yes. Leave the bag at your unit door and put the gate code, building and unit number in the special instructions. Where a building requires it, we collect from and deliver to the leasing office or concierge instead.

FAQ

Commercial accounts

Do you offer commercial laundry service for businesses?

Yes. Bag Chasers offers scheduled commercial laundry service for gyms, salons, short-term rentals, restaurants, barbershops and other businesses throughout Gwinnett County. Commercial accounts can include complimentary laundry bags, scheduled pickup days and one monthly invoice instead of paying order by order.

How is commercial pricing different from residential?

Commercial accounts are quoted on volume and frequency rather than paying the published per-pound rate. A gym running towels five days a week and a salon running capes once a week are different route problems, so the quote reflects the actual schedule rather than a list price.

Is there a contract?

No long-term contract is required to start. Accounts run on a rolling schedule you can change or pause with notice, because a business whose volume moves with the season should not be locked to a fixed number.

Do you provide laundry bags?

Yes. We can provide laundry bags for your business at no additional charge, to make scheduled pickups and deliveries simple and organized.

How quickly can a commercial account start?

Usually within a week of the quote being agreed, since it is a matter of adding a stop to an existing route rather than building a new one. Request a quote and we will confirm the earliest route day for your address.

Put the bag down.

Two minutes to book. We call or text to confirm. Nothing is charged until your bag is weighed.
