Duvet covers are Wash & Fold. A duvet cover goes in with your regular laundry and is charged by weight at $2.09/lb, just like your sheets. The duvet insert itself is considered a bulky item and is priced separately based on bed size.
A comforter is not heavy until it is wet
A queen comforter may weigh only about 7 lb dry but can become much heavier once it absorbs water. That is why charging bulky bedding by the pound does not make much sense.
Instead, comforters and other bulky bedding are priced at a flat rate based on bed size. They are kept separate from your Wash & Fold weight, so you are charged once, never twice for the same item.
Bulky items do not count toward the 30 lb Wash & Fold minimum. However, every pickup has a 30 lb minimum order ($62.70). So if you are sending only a comforter, or your total order falls below the minimum, we will still pick it up: the $62.70 minimum order charge simply applies. You can also add regular clothes, towels, sheets and other Wash & Fold laundry to help meet the minimum.
What we will not put in a machine
- Feather pillows. The fill clumps and never fully recovers.
- Memory foam. It breaks down when saturated. No laundry can wash it safely.
- Dry-clean-only bedding. Pulled at sorting and returned unwashed, with a call or a text.
- Electric blankets. The wiring does not survive a commercial extractor.
Telling you this before you book is cheaper for everyone than telling you after.
Comforter questions
How much does it cost to wash a comforter?
By bed size: $25 for a twin or full, $30 for a queen, $35 for a king, with pickup and delivery included. Down or feather fill adds $10. A weighted blanket is $40. Every one is a flat charge for the item and is never weighed as well.
Do comforters count toward the 30 lb minimum?
No. Bulky items are priced separately and do not count toward the 30 lb Wash and Fold minimum. Every pickup still has a 30 lb minimum order ($62.70), so if you send only a comforter we will still collect it and the minimum order charge applies. Adding regular laundry is the easy way to use it up.
Can you wash a king-size comforter?
Yes. Bulky items go into oversize commercial machines rather than a domestic drum, which is the whole point of the service. A king comforter that will not tumble properly in a home washer washes and dries correctly here.
Do you wash pillows?
No. Pillows of any fill are not a service we offer. Feather clumps, memory foam breaks down, and fiber-fill comes back flatter than it went in. Area rugs are the other item we do not take. If either turns up in a bag it comes back unwashed and we will tell you what we found.
Will you wash a down comforter?
Down comforters and duvets, yes, provided the care label allows washing. Down is dried on low heat over a longer cycle so the fill lofts back rather than clumping. If the label says dry-clean-only, we pull it and tell you rather than risking it.
How long does comforter cleaning take?
The same turnaround as the rest of your order, counted from the pickup rather than from when you booked. Bulky items run in parallel with your per-pound load, so they do not delay it.
